How do I disable this "function".

It is soooo stupid! Many times while I'm working I want to get my mail and
MSN Messenger starts up and a bunch of people start messenging me. I am
trying to work BUT I can't be too rude - some of these people are my
clients.

Who invented that "FEATURE" anyway!

What a crock! Microsoft are morons!

Any ideas or should I shit-can MSN Messenger and just use yahoo?

Best regards,

Brian

Thanks for the tip JVH but MSN Messenger still appears and goes online
whenever I fire up Outlook Express - sigh.

On the plus side, Messenger no longer starts up during reboots - which is a
relief.

Anybody know how to disable this ANNOYING feature?

Best regards,

Brian

In Outlook Express, click on the Tool menu, options..... , then the general
tab. Uncheck the "Automatically log on to the MSN Messenger Service". Hope
it works.

Hi Woody:

I have already run that and it is a help.

BUT

Starting Outlook Express still starts an instance of MSN Messenger that is
not logged in BUT still there in my system tray.

I have now deleted/removed MSN Messenger beccause it isn't working and
Microsoft is full of bullshit about it being a routine upgrade.

I have instead installed "Yahoo Messenger" and have found it a superior
product right from the Get Go!

(7) No running advertisements!
(6) Superior setup options!
(5) Doesn't start every time I start Outlook Express!
(4) Invisible mode so I won't be interupted by idle family, friends and
clients!
(3) Includes many more services which I find quite handy - stock quotes are
great!
(2) No fear of being assimilated by the Microsoft Collective!

and finally...

(1) It works!

I have already emailed my entire contact list and now have about half on my
Yahoo Messenger friends list (can have different lists as well, Clients,
Family, etc.)

What can I say, Yahoo Rules & Microsoft Drools!

Thanks for your help, Woody.

Best regards,

Brian
