Im tired. And of those Backinfullforcetreads. So here is my ultimate take on him. I think he is Darl. Why? Darl has to be here, as a poster, 'cause he ain't no lurker. Backinfullforce is the only constant pro SCO two poster. Count out the trolls, a manager won't go for that cheap pleasure. Backinfullforce isn't John Bavarian, if you transcribe his more bizarre postings into german they don't become less cryptic. My WAG on the source of that strangeness is that Darl uses automatic translation into an foreign tongue and back into english to avoid typical vocabulary choice and spelling errors that would expose him in a statitistical analysis of his postings compared to his official writings. Just in case his identity is exposed nevertheless he avoids any statement that would get a SCO exec into trouble when traced back to him. While argueing he deliberately avoids the last step to make a convincing argument because he is more interested to see our reaction than to convince us of his point of view. He is here to understand our way of thought, not to share but to manipulate it. In plain english, his message of the day would be "SCO got two victories from Judge Cabot: 1) AT&T licensees have to respont to SCO audit demands 2) DCC told the court that they don't use SysV, but they use SysV in Linux, by certifieing they don't their behaviour is malicious and entitels SCO to triple damages in the legal move against their unlicensed Linux usage." But he doesn't say that because he want's us to deliver him a convincing way to spin it for free. (take it, Darl. It's not poisonous). Next on his agenda: Why agreement 2538 shows that AIX 5 is only a work for hire done by IBM from SVr5 for SCO. Nuff said. Good Night.

He doesn't strike me as savvy enough to do that. Or patient enough even if someone savvy told him to.

Darl strikes me as a pathological character who always has to be in control and on top. He will instantly make up some authority to back his blatherings when challenged (3 teams, deep dive, we get many requests a month to look at the source code. . . ).

I can believe that he would be the type of person who would want to respond. I just can't see him as the type of person who would have the patience for the translation trick.
