Nope. You don't need to appologize though. The account was created today. The person supposedly copied a post from Groklaw that as far as we know, nobody else saw.

And they had the forsight to copy it immediatly... Yeah right. And just after a conference call trashing Groklaw.

This is not the usual Grokwars problem. I smell a very large hairy rat...

I can confirm that the post appeared on Groklaw earlier today. I happened to see it before it was deleted.

I'm not saying anything about the accuracy of the information or the motives of the poster, just that it was indeed on Groklaw for a short time this morning.

If she deleted it, it must mean that it was accurate, at least in part. If it was inaccurate it would serve her anonymity to leave it up.

However, she could just be using reverse psychology, by removing an inaccurate post, to keep us all guessing, and theorizing.

That would be followed up, logically, with hints about who PJ really is. They hit Groklaw first, then hit here after PJ deleted the original post.

Not that those hints were remotely correct. Darl couldn't say anything, but hints suddenly started to be posted. Nope, I don't buy it. The timing smells too much. SCOX made Groklaw a target, they know about the Grokwars, and they were hoping to enflame them, and have MOG write the commentary. That post was a plant to set things off.

Happily, it does not seem to have worked.

And yes, I am keeping this thread alive to keep this message out there. This is not Grokwars. This post was a death throw from SCOXE.

1. PJ does not play games with this. She has been interviewed by many media outlets, and always consistently insisted that she does snot seek fame. After 2 years of running groklaw, I have yet to hear PJ tell a lie, adn if she ever got some fact wrong, she was quick to correct it. With that kind of track record, you have to assume it is true that she is a paralegal, and that she values her privacy.

2. If the information is incorrect, and PJ has a namesake, that person would be subject to harassment from the likes of Yarro, MOG, Enderle, through no fault of her own. Do your really think PJ could possibly find any pleasure of knowing that some innocent third party would be exposed to these people? Shady characters going thorugh her trash, creepy people like Drudge following her around, calls to friends and family asking strange questions, her high school yearbook picture posted on Maureen's filthy rag?

No, I am rather convinced that this is all a result of ledite's outing. ledite must have been close to SCO. ledite was SCO's 'groklaw'.
Why SCO was stupid enough to play these kinds of games with $2 billion dollars on the line, now, that's the real whopper.

When ledite disappeared, Darl probably thought he was justified in going after groklaw. I will promise, that at the next conference call, there will be questions about ledite and groklaw. And Darl will end up having to lie a really big one, or squirm really hard.

Couple of odd things about that post text.

Ostensibly copied Lines have a CR/LF at 50-51 characters.
Lines "copied" are prefixed and postfixed with quotes.
Quote block lines have a leading blank space before first character.
Leading 2 lines have CR/LF at 56 character.

My Groklaw wraps lines at 80 characters, unless a CR has been deliberately set. My copied Groklaw blocks do not append a leading blank space.

Others on this board would know about system configs that force CR/LF in odd places and append blank space in copied blocks, I don't. Would be interesting to search for other posts with a 50-51 character length.

A quasi trollish comment "Why don't you just step forward" at the appended address has the 56-7 line length characteristic of the first two lines of this parent post. It's annoymous, but Groklaw would have the posting log.

FWIW, there are enough high quality leads out there in the public record to indicate that the details in the parent post are just plain wrong. Which would make deletion a non-issue from just about anybody's point of view.

What, here? Nobody has praised her. We just said what day5 said was horsehockey. I have not changed my opionion of PJ any, or the Grokwarriors pro or con. I am pretty sensitive to the subject and I have seen no pro or con PJ posts on this board after the conference call. Except for a certain con.

You may have to accept neutral posts as neutral br3n, or explain what you thought here was pro PJ. I still don't see day5 as a Grokwar issue. I still don't see a Grokwar going on. Though you do seem to be kindling one. As many have asked, please stop. On this board anyway. We still are not interested in discussing the pros or cons of PJ on this board.

To be honest, I have actually had to work for a living over the last two days, and I have not read over all the posts. This board moves too fast for me to catch up, so I sometimes do not read large blocks of posts.

And I can only tell you why I didn't. Supply the message numbers in question and I will be glad to yell at them now. Or tell you why you missinterpreted them. I don't know either way, I never read them.

Of all the posts I have read, and it was a significant number, I did not see any overly pro PJ posts. From all the other posters I have read on this board, if an overly pro PJ poster started wailing away it would be rebutted just as quickly as an overly anti PJ poster, simply because either would start a Grokwars, and we are really, really tired of that.

And at the present moment, because of that conference call, yes, a pro PJ post might slip through from a Grokwarrior. So, give me a message number, and I will honestly check it out and reply.

Let me be the first to introduce you to the post grokwars era. Just as some could not get over the fact the cold war ended, you seem to have an issue with the Grokwars being declared dead and gone.

It is not Yahoo. It was never intended to be. If it was, Darl would not have wasted his time on it.

So some advice from sick friend to another. Take your meds and go to sleep dear. This goes to all of you. We all have the right to disagree, we all have the right to do what we want. It is a hard thing to go against the grain, as br3n is doing, but in this case, I feel it is not the right thing.
