A little bit of Grokwar
April 14, 2007
Just documenting the facts in sadness not anger.
At about 10:30 am Eastern today, I helpfully posted an anonymous comment to the latest Groklaw article (through Tor). The subject was " So, what's left on the table", leading on from PJ's paragraph in the article. It contained a slighly updated version of the text from IV 13636 [ http://www.investorvillage.com/smbd.asp?mb=1911&mn=13636&pt=msg&mid=946673 ]
and the words 'Source: SCO's 294 Alleged Violations [ http://www.zen77087.zen.co.uk/nug/alleg/viols.shtml ] recently updated' in a nice clicky link. For avoidance of doubt, there is nothing on that page from any sealed document. Groklaw user tiger99 [ http://www.groklaw.net/users.php?mode=profile&uid=7552 ] posted a reply Not much, but thanks for an excellent analysis of the remains [ http://www.groklaw.net/comment.php?mode=display&sid=20070402104130364&type=article&title=Not+much,+but+thanks+for+an+excellent+analysis+of+the+remains&pid=558729 ].
But now it's deleted, and tiger99's reply orphaned.
So a friendly warning to anyone who might want to cite my humble effort at GL. Don't! You will risk your posting privileges.
That is all.
Re: A little bit of caution at GL

I exchanged email with PJ regarding Groklaw's moderation of the Sizzling Allegation
She says the table is important research and her inability to use or maintain links to it is a crying shame.
PJ is uncomfortable with the Sizzle site for the outing of Biff's IP and the honeypot effort used to detect it. PJ feels that this "prank" was beyond the pale ethically. PJ fears that this might (or in future hypothetical incidents) expose PJ/groklaw to legal attacks using European privacy laws by parties gunning for GL.
PJ recognizes the message board mileu has it own ethical context, but she feels this conflicts with the core values of GL.
I am not trying to dismiss Sizz by reporting these reservation. As I have shared, I am a fancier of honey in all its many containers.
